Cougars win on the road despite second half deficit
Blackwood, NJ -- Cougars continue to find ways to win
CCC MBB (8-3) showcased grit and determination in a come-back victory Saturday afternoon, storming back to defeat Harrisburg Area Community College (2-10) 81–74 in Harrisburg, PA.
Trailing for much of the first and second halves, the Cougars battled back behind balanced and timely scoring, seizing momentum late in the 2H to seal the road victory.
CCC flipped the script after halftime, opening up the second half with a strong play on both sides of the ball.
Key baskets from multiple players helped swing the momentum, trimming the deficit and eventually giving the Cougars their first lead of the afternoon, a lead they would not relinquish.
With HACC threatening a comeback late, Camden County held firm, making crucial free throws down the stretch and locking in on defense when it mattered most. In all, the Cougars scored 46 2H points to HACC's 33.
This victory highlighted Camden County's depth and balance as the bench played a vital role in creating and sustaining the lead. In totality, the bench produced 32 total points – providing energy and key minutes that helped turn the tide.
Zha'Mere Crawford (Wilmington, DE) and Istavan Norwood (Dover, DE) combined for 32 points, 13 rebounds and 6 total steals/blocks. The freshman pair continue to string together strong performances for Head Coach Lou Abbattista.
Su Allyene and Sam'i Singletary were also impressive off the bench, as the duo contributed 10 points each and 8 total rebounds.
The win improves the Cougars' overall record to 8-3 and adds valuable momentum as they look to end the December slate on a positive note.
CCC MBB will look to build on this road win as they travel to Sussex on 12/16 and host rival, Cumberland on 12/18.
