Camden County College Wrestling volunteers for Philadelphia's Veterans Parade
Sunday November 6th our Men's wrestling team volunteered at Veterans day parade in Philadelphia.
Coach Chillem was honered to take his team over and volunteer and celebrate our veterans. "It was our pleasure to help facilitate the Veterans Parade that supports such honorable men and women. We recognize many commonalities between wrestling and the military - strong work ethic, discipline and dedication, among others. We make sacrifices as wrestlers, but they pale in comparison to the sacrifices made by the veterans who fought to defend our freedom. We actually use the National Anthem played before each competition as a form of mental preparation to initiate us into warrior mode. So, this community service was a great opportunity to honor those who inspire us. We returned home late from our first competition of the season the night before the parade. I'm very proud of our guys for rallying together for the community service, despite being sore and tired. We are becoming better wrestlers, students, sons and brothers, as well as overall citizens. On behalf of Cougar Wrestling - Happy Veterans Day to our soldiers, both past and present."
