Lady Cougars win second straight road game
Blackwood, NJ -- Lady Cougars streak continues
CCC WBB (11-8) continued its strong play with a 73-49 blowout victory over Bergen Community College (3-14) , marking their second consecutive road win and another statement performance away from home.
After a competitive first half in which Camden led 29-25; the Lady Cougars surged in the third and fourth quarters respectively, thanks to a strong defensive effort and efficient offense.
CCC WBB showcased their balanced play on both sides of the basketball as they forced Bergen into nineteen total turnovers. They also allowed held Bergen to just 32% from the field and 33% from distance.
Offensively, Camden played with poise and secured key contributions from several players as two starters finished the game in double-digits while two reserves also added double-digit scoring as well. Overall, the Lady Cougars scored 44 totaled 2H points, their second most all season.
Sophomore Guard, Clara Pons de vall Ruiz (Vilassar De Mar, Spain) led the way, scoring 15 points on 6-13 shooting. She also added 9 rebounds, 2 assists & 3 steals. This is her second game in a row that she finished just shy of registering a double-double.
Sophomore Guard Erica Paranzino (Washington Township, NJ) added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists & 3 steals. Anissa Spurlock (Willingboro, NJ) & Jamyra Green (Somerdale, NJ) combined for 30 points, 3 rebounds & 3 assists off the bench.
This victory follows another impressive road result, showcasing the Lady Cougars growing momentum and cohesion as a unit. They now sit at 8-6 in Region XIX play with five games remaining on the schedule.
With experience and confidence growing each week, Camden County is positioning itself as a tough out in every matchup moving forward.
Looking ahead, the Lady Cougars (11-8) will return home tomorrow, January 3rd as they search for their third victory in a row against Sussex CC.
