CAMDEN WBB FALL TO BROOKDALE AT HOME
After leading at halftime, Lady Cougars falter in second half
Blackwood, NJ -- After a strong half, Lady Cougars struggle in 4th quarter
For most of three quarters, the Camden CC Lady Cougars battled and traded punches in a back-and-forth contest. However, a strong 2H from Brookdale proved to be the difference in the game, handing the Cougars another tough home loss this past weekend.
From the opening tip, the matchup had all the makings of a back and forth affair as Camden was steady offensively, scoring 16 points in the 1st and 2nd quarters. They forced Brookdale into mistakes and pushed the tempo when they had the opportunity to do so. Neither team was able to create a large lead as both offenses were in rhythm, ultimately culminating in a 32-28 halftime lead for CCC.
Nonetheless, in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, the tide changed for CCC as they began to falter on the offensive side of the ball. Camden would eventually fall behind, as Brookdale was able to take advantage and create a lead.
As Brookdale continued their offensive attack, they were able to sustain the lead as CCC WBB scored 12 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters respectively to Brookdale's 20 and 21 points, ending in a 69-56 defeat.
The Cougars will now look to bounce back as they prepare for their next matchup against another regional foe in Bergen CC. With the competitiveness they showed for most of the night, the team remains optimistic about turning this tough loss into fuel moving forward.
CCC WBB (3-6) will host Bergen CC (3-6) on Tuesday, December 9th at 5PM.
