CCC Lady Cougars drop tightly contest matchup against rival, Gloucester
Blackwood NJ -- CCC Women's Basketball Drop First Game of The Season
The Camden County College women's basketball team lose first game of the season against Gloucester, 65-49.
The Lady Cougars started the first half with good effort and energy on their home floor but struggled to convert scoring opportunities, leading to an early deficit. As the game progressed, Gloucester was able to utilize their size inside and knock down 3-pt shots which led them to go into halftime up 40-24.
However, Camden continued to battle after the break, cutting the lead to as little as seven points. Unfortunately, despite the come-back effort, Gloucester was able to increase their lead late in the game and secure the victory.
Sophomore forward, Brianna Kemble (Blackwood, NJ) continued her strong all-around play in the loss, registering 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals & 2 blocks. Sophomore Guard, Clara Pons de vall Ruiz (Vilassar de Mar, Spain) scored 11 while also contributing 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.
With the result, CCC women's basketball moves to 2-1 on the year.
The Cougars will look to bounce back when they host Community College of Philadelphia on 11/11 at 5PM.
