CAMDEN LADY COUGARS WIN SEASON OPENER, BEAT ARUNDEL 71-57
Lady Cougars open 25-26' campaign with convincing win at home.
Blackwood NJ -- Camden Defeat Arundel 71–57 in Home Season Opener
The Camden CC Lady Cougars opened their 2025–26' basketball season in convincing fashion Tuesday night, beating Arundel 71-57.
Camden set the tone early, using their high-powered offensive attack to create opportunities in transition and in the half-court. Their strong play allowed the Lady Cougars to go into halftime with a 39-24 lead.
While Arundel came out re-focused after the break, Camden responded; scoring 23 points in the third quarter alone, their most for any quarter in the game. As a result, the Lady Cougars were able to maintain control throughout the second half, keeping Anne Arundel's offense in check while showcasing their well-balanced team-wide effort.
Sophomore Forward; Brianna Kemble stuffed the stat sheet, contributing in almost every statistical category with 20 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists & 5 steals.
Sophomore Guard; Clara Pons de vall Ruiz also had a well-rounded game, scoring 15 points while also grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists.
Head Coach Chip Reitano praised the team's energy and execution in the opener:
"We wanted to start the season by setting a standard for how we play — with intensity and teamwork".
The Cougars return to action tomorrow when they host Ocean CC in Papiano Gymnasium at 5:00pm.
