Camden County Men's Soccer Battles Hard in Matchup Against RCSJ–Cumberland
The Camden County Cougars Men's Soccer team put forth a resilient effort in Tuesdays Region XIX matchup against Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland, showing the requisite focus and determination needed to win.
Facing off against a gritty Cumberland squad, Camden County opened the match with a methodical apporach and disciplined defending. The Cougars backline, anchored by Bono Wijnhoven held firm in the opening 45 minutes, keeping the visitors at bay and off the scoreboard.
In the first half, the Cougars looked poised to continue their offensive outburst with goals from Nico Segarra and Vasco Perdiz which allowed them to go into halftime up 2-0.
In the second half, Cumberland came out with a renewed offensive approach, scoring off a counter attack and a free kick. However, the Cougars also came out with relentless energy and we're able to expand upon their lead with goals from several key players. Quam Dickson led the way with a superb overall match, contributing (2) goals and an assist while Vasco Perdiz and Nico Segarra scored again in the second half, finishing with two overall goals apiece. Juan Perelli was able to continue his stellar play, scoring in this 4th straight match.
Overall, despite the final score; Cumberland provided quite the test for the region leading Cougars who accepted the challenge and responded.

The Camden County Cougars (5-0-1) will return to action on Saturday, 9/20 as they travel to Union College of New Jersey (2-3) in another pivotal Region 19 matchup. Kickoff is scheduled at Noon.
