CAMDEN FALL ON THE ROAD TO SUSSEX
Cougars winning streak ends at two games
Blackwood, NJ -- Cougars offense falters in 2H, fall on the road
CCC MBB (8-4) saw its two-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night, dropping a 75–70 decision to Sussex County Community College (4-10).
The Cougars and the Skylanders went into the break deadlocked after a tightly contested first half that featured strong defensive play and balanced scoring on both sides.
Camden matched Sussex possession for possession early until the Skylanders were able to gain momentum and create a double-digit lead mid-way through the half.
However, CCC closed the distance with their strong play inside and off the bench, equalizing the contest before the break.
Ultimately, Sussex again gained momentum in the second half, opening with an early scoring run to build another small cushion.
CCC continued to battle, chipping away at the deficit but just couldn't not get over the proverbial hump. The Skylanders were able to convert timely baskets down the stretch, outscoring Camden 42-37 in the 2H to claim victory.
Despite the loss, Camden sits at 8-4 with a pivotal matchup coming up against rival, Cumberland (6-6) on Thursday. The Cougars will look to get back in the win column and go into the winter break with positive momentum.
Sophomore Forward, Mikey Campbell (Fayetteville, NC) finished with 19 points on 8-16 shooting from the field. He also secured 4 rebounds.
Camden Men's Basketball will face off against Cumberland, Thursday December 18th. Tip-off is slated for an earlier start time of 5pm.
