CCC FALL AGAINST SALEM
Cougars falter, suffer first home defeat.
Blackwood, NJ -- Cougars suffer first home loss of the season
Camden County College fell 69–59 to Salem Community College on Tuesday, marking the Cougars' first home loss of the season.
The Cougars struggled with their efficiency on the offensive side of the ball which allowed Salem to create an early lead. While CCC got in rhythm late in the 1H, it was an up-hill battle going into halftime as they faced a 31-20 deficit.
In the 2H, the Cougars tightened up and figured how to produce points against Salem, outscoring them 39–38. However, the early deficit proved too much to overcome in the end.
Freshman Forward, Istavan Norwood (Dover, DE) led Camden with 16 points and 6 rebounds (8-12 FGM/A), though the Cougars struggled to find consistent offensive rhythm or second-chance opportunities.
Freshman Guard, Su Allyene (Chester, PA) added 10 points, 6 rebounds & 7 assists while Cam Rembert (Philadelphia, PA) contributed 12 points on 6-7 shooting from the field.
Despite a spirited push late, Camden just couldn't close the gap, falling to an undefeated Salem CC squad.
The Cougars now look to regroup quickly as they prepare for a busy week, with three home games.
CCC MBB will prepare to host undefeated Northampton CC on Tuesday 12/2 at 7pm.
